Here is the Production Company's Logo:
Ghost House Pictures was first established in 2002 by Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert, who aimed to produce high concept horror films. The company has released many well known horror films such as
-The Possession (2012)
-Poltergeist (2015)
-The Grudge (2004)
-30 Days of Night (2007)
-Evil Dead (2013)
-Drag Me To Hell (2009)
-The Messengers (2007)
I think that the company's logo is very effective as the skull emerges from the dark and black background and zooms in as the company name 'Ghost House Pictures' appears around it. The font used makes the writing look as though it is dripping something, possibly blood suggesting that the film will be scary and gory. The editing of the logo is very choppy and the skull is made to look like it is vibrating and is also made to look like there is a glitch in the logo as it flickers and cracks and turns into a variety of colours. I really like how the skull is made to move, shake and flicker as if there is a problem with the logo as it creates a sense of worry in the viewer as it is unusual and suggests that something may be wrong indicating that this may be the same in the film that follows. I also think that the sound effects are effective as when the logo glitches a crackling and electronic sound is played to further indicate that something is wrong and not normal.
School made Production Company:
This is the school made production company logo that I have chosen to analyse:
I think that this production company title is effective as I really like how the background moves and creates what looks like an optical illusion as it adds movement and colour to the Company Logo and makes it more memorable. I think that the use of the colour blue was successful as it was bright but also made the logo feel cold and indicated that the film to follow could be chilling or scary. I also like how the title 'Blue Montage' is already there written in a bold silver font when the logo begins to play and then the word 'Entertainment' slowly appears in a different font in white underneath as it makes it more interesting. I also think its effective when the word 'Entertainment' disappears again as does the blue background leaving it with just the text 'Blue Montage' as it added simplicity to the logo after the previous moving background.
I think that this Production Company Logo was made by filming lights being shone on a reflective, coloured object and moved around to create reflections and shapes to create the blue moving background which was placed into an editing software to make the colours more contrasting and easier too see. I think a reflective object was used and had light shone onto it to create the moving and uneven effect displayed in the film. I then think that the text was added when editing as were the special effects and movements that happens to the text.
